Another RYL Concept

I was thinking a bit about RYL and the biggest pros and cons. Not sure if everyone shares my opinion, but maybe a few people do ^^ (the rest is free to ignore this thread).

Most of us like the PvP in RYL, and the server(s) start to suck when there is no PvP (any more) or no other players to play with/against.

Playing with hardcap (and even with softcap) items is pretty boring and on servers with normal droprate a pain in the ass to make these items. Furthermore it scares "new" people away when they join the server after a few months and they wont be able to kill anyone and die by one hit all the time.

My idea for a (in my opinion of course perfect) setup:

1. instantly lvl 90 (if max lvl is 100)
2. low XP, and by low i mean loooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, so you can (and have to) lvl in pt for weeks to get the last 10 lvls
3. no drops at all besides small amounts of gold (more gold from bosses)
4. all books lvl 1-4 at NPC
5. NPC selling weapons and armours with everything min and max D, C, B, A, AA, AAA for different (insane) prices
6. NPC selling metal for money, TOB/Ants for medals.
7. upgrading possible to +10
8. NO fuse/reset.

With this setup you will have:
1. Everyone on the server in lvl range all the time. Even new players can create a char and get into a pt. Or if you need e.g. a healer for the lvl/farm pt, just force someone to make a cleric/life Smile
2. The low (loooooooooooooooooooooooooooow) XP rate will make sure there will be lvling for weeks/months and even the "nolifers" wont be max lvl after a few days.
3. Noone needs bacon, lvl 2 books, medium gems and all the other crap. The gold drops will be automaticly divided amoung the party, so there will be no brawling about who is supposed to get this item or that book or what ever. Even bosskilling would be profitable for everyone in the pt, and not just for those lucky bastards that randomly picked up a good item.
4. All books available at NPC will remove another aspect from the game where you just depend on the random event, if YOUR book drops or not. Just lvl/farm for a certain amount of time and you got the book(s) you need.
5. Everyone can have (more or less) the same gear. Its just a matter of how long or how much you lvled/farmed. It wont depend on how many blacksmith myths you know or on how many friends collect fusers for you or on how lucky you are with upgrading.
6. Says it all. The Tob/Ant for medals will be another reason for PvP besides XP Statue
7. Says it all.
8. Without reseting items, after a long period of time everyone will have max AAA items with +10, so there wont be any too imbalanced players and the game will stay interesting even for new players.

Teamplay will become more important. You wont need to create farming characters and sneak around the map to find a clean (solo) farmingspot.
There will be full pts all over the map, fighting for medals and the best spots.

Well thats about it. I got some more stuff in my mind but this should be enough for now ^^

and of course: No quests ^^
Even an item mall to refund the server wont hurt anyone and wont require much work because all you have to do is give out some gold to the "donaters"

Upgrading is the most annoying yet needed part of RYL2 so i really like the concept that you only need to +10 once

Well the problem is hosting atm.. Had to give up the old host cause we ran out of money to keep it running and the situation hasn't changed. We have nowhere to host it atm.

this concept sounds better.. guess we can all donate to get a server up and running.. Smile i can donate some money after tuesday.. if i get my driverslicense.. otherwise all my money will go to continueing my drivers education shiz.. =(

Love the idea man, and by the way why would you have to force someone to make a life/cleric....(retorocal question)

Well row could be changed into this if you wanted to. But doesn't really matter much what version you choose for it as long as its stable etc.
